Hondros College School of Nursing at the Hearat WalkHondros College School of Nursing participated in the American Heart Association Heart Walk on Saturday, August 28, in downtown Columbus. Our team raised over $300 for the organization’s effort to prevent cardiovascular disease by promoting a healthy lifestyle. We’d like to extend our most heartfelt thanks to all the students and staff who participated in this event for such a wonderful cause.

The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. These diseases, the nation’s No.1 and No.3 killers, claim more than 865,000 American lives a year.

The American Heart Association is working to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20% while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20% by the year 2020.

Hondros College School of Nursing is proud to support this cause.

    I didn’t walk in this walkathon, but did so when I was younger. It was the greatest feeling that I felt in my life, knowing that by me walking, money was being donated for whatever cause I was walking for. I encourage others to do it as well, and in the process, will meet a ton of good like-minded people.

  2. Yes, I always try to participate in these. Not only do you participate in something making the world better, but they are often good social gatherings!
