Sharon DeLay (CPCC, CPRW, SPHR), a local career consultant, resume writer and author, as well as part-time core instructor at Hondros College, has contributed her career search expertise to two new books: The Twitter Job Search Guide: Find a Job and Advance Your Career in Just 15 Minutes a Day AND Designing a Cover Letter to “Wow” Hiring Personnel.
The Twitter Job Search Guide, written by career industry innovators Susan Britton Whitcomb, Chandlee Bryan and Deb Dib, explores how to use Twitter - arguably today’s hottest career management tool - to accelerate job search success. DeLay, whose contributions were selected from hundreds of submissions, lends advice on how job seekers can accomplish the following:
- Access more than half a million job openings listed on Twitter
- Build and leverage their professional network
- Enhance their reputation and demonstrate their subject-matter expertise
- Get in front of hiring managers and have more fun in the job search
Designing a Cover Letter, written by Teena Rose, is releasing its second edition. Three of DeLay’s cover letters were selected for inclusion in the new edition. Included in this published work are the following:
- Over 100 cover letter samples
- Tips for writing “Wow” cover letters
- General career advice and tips
If you’re in need of job search techniques or want to improve your cover letter writing skills, you are encouraged to pick up a copy of each of these new books. We’re proud to have Sharon in the Hondros family!
Are you planning to read either of these books? If so, what are you hoping to take away?

Nice interesting information about new books, explores how to use Twitter. I want to improve my cover letter writing skills
As I have acknowledged, this is a organization tool. It’s not just a miracle piece of equipment. It could without difficulty become a different expense if you don’t put the time and effort into finding out how to take advantage of it.
Without doubt, the cover letter is an essential job search tool. Some go far as to say it is more important that a resume. While I wouldn’t go that far, I would say that it holds a lot more potential to get the attention of a hiring manager — vs the traditionally “boring” resume.
