Thank you to the Columbus Board of Realtors for writing this great article about the recipients of the 7th Annual John G. Hondros and Linda Hondros scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to two recipients who aspire to take real estate pre-licensing courses in Central Ohio. You can read the article by the Columbus Board of Realtors here.

I took a moment to reach out to our two scholarship recipients, Brigid Davis and Courtney Chapman, now that they have been attending courses here at Hondros College. Brigid Davis will be finishing her courses next Wednesday and will be taking the state exam shortly after. She has signed on with RE/MAX Capital Centre and is very excited to get started in her real estate career working with prospective buyers and those who are looking to sell their home. When I asked Brigid about her experience at Hondros she said “It was awesome! The instructors were great and very knowledgable. I couldn’t imagine taking courses anywhere else.” Courtney Chapman is halfway through his courses and will be an agent with Faulkner Realty after he passes his exam. Courtney said “I am thoroughly enjoying the classes and instructors. I am really looking forward to completing the courses and getting my license.” Good luck to Brigid and to Courtney! You have a bright future ahead!

Meet our December Instructor of the Month!

Each month, we will feature a different Hondros College instructor. We will choose instructors from all industries within the College of Business. We hope you enjoy these columns and that they give you a first hand look at the high caliber of faculty here at Hondros College.

Bob Kutschbach has been a real estate instructor at Hondros College for 22 years. He has been married to his wife for 23 years and has four daughters he is extremely proud of. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom with a background in the banking industry as a senior vice president before attending Hondros’ real estate courses and then founding Carleton Realty. Carleton Realty has seen tremendous growth and now employs 155 agents as of the end of November 2011. In case you are wondering, Bob chose the name Carleton Realty because “Carleton” is his middle name.

Bob said his favorite part about teaching at Hondros is experiencing first hand the energy and excitement of the students who are preparing for a career in the Real Estate Industry. He said he feels a duty as a broker to impress on students the high importance of ethical behavior. He also enjoys the academic freedom that allows him to learn and then teach new techniques. One example of this would be how he utilizes Hondros’ interactive technology in the classroom to aid students understanding. He has been recognized for the past six years as being a leader in education when he has presented at the nationwide annual Real Estate Educators Association.

When Bob is not running Carleton Realty or teaching at Hondros, he enjoys family time boating on Lake Erie. He has a 38’ Cabin Cruiser Chris-Craft named “RealEscape.” Very fitting name, don’t you agree? All of us here at Hondros College would like to thank Bob Kutschbach for his many years of service teaching! We are so proud that you are a faculty member at Hondros College.
