The SAFE act, which was passed in July 2008 by President Bush, requires that all
loan originators who do not work for a Federally insured depository institution
complete a minimum of 20 hours of prelicense education, submit a Background

Ohio House Bill 1 (HB 1) calls for increases in fees to appraisal licensing fees. The bill has been assigned to the Finance and Appropriations committee and is being discussed in those sub committees. This 3000+ page Bill encompasses the entire ORC, the real estate and Appraisal changes are just a small part of it.

HB 1 contains several items related to real estate. There are various fee increases for
new brokers and sales agents applications,license transfers, agent’s renewal fees, and
fees to brokerages who have between 11-19 agents, or more than 20 agents.
Increases in fees paid to the real estate recovery fund and the administration of
that money.
